Types of ticket and passes

Single Journey Ticket, MRT Pass or Rapid pass can be used to travel on MRT Line-6. MRT Pass is a type of magnetic contactless Integrated Circuit Ticketing commonly known as smart cards. There is a 30% discount for using MRT or Rapid pass compared to single journey tickets.

How to buy tickets

Single journey tickets can be bought via two ways - manually from counters or from automated self service machines. In the manual system, passengers will be able to buy tickets from ticket counters at stations. Alternatively, tickets can be bought from self service Ticket Vending Machine (TVM).

How to buy MRT Pass

MRT passes can be bought from ticket counters only at stations. A regsitration form needs to filled to apply for an MRT pass with a payment of ৳500 (includes ৳200 refundable deposit for the pass). Click on the image to download the form. Pass will be issued for 10 years. They can be topped up from self service Ticket Vending Machine (TVM). Online or mobile topup facility will be available in future.

How to buy Rapid Pass

RAPID pass can be used to travel on Dhaka Metro as well as other transport systems in Bangladesh. Initial payment is ৳400 (includes ৳200 refundable deposit for the pass). RAPID passes can be bought or topped up from ticket counters at stations or from the following branches of DBBL bank.

Printout and fill up the form beforehand to avoid delay at station / bank. Please note only name and mobile numbers are minimum fields required on the form (marked with *). You do not have to share the other infromation if you do not want to. A card user can recharge a minimum of ৳100 and a maximum of ৳1,000, but the card balance cannot exceed ৳10,000.
